U.S. Embassy San Jose, Costa Rica  is pleased to announce the opening of the annual United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Cochran Fellowship Program (CFP) competition for short-term (2-3 weeks) training in the United States. The program targets senior and mid-level agriculturists, managers and administrators concerned with agricultural development, trade, agribusiness management and marketing from the public and private sectors. CFP is part of the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service, Office of Capacity Building and Development, Trade and Scientific Exchanges Division. The program objectives are to assist Costa Ricans to develop agricultural systems necessary to meet the food needs of its domestic populations, and to strengthen and enhance trade linkages with other countries.

In Fiscal Year 2018 the priority topic for Costa Rica are:
•         U.S. Organized Retail and E-Retail Marketing Training
•         U.S. Craft Brewing Ingredients Training

The goal of the programs are to provide with innovative methods, new techniques, networking and good quality products.

The deadline for submission of applications is February 28, 2018.
